While both teams have youngsters looking for glory, they also have crafty veterans looking for one last hurray.
Toni Kroos is set to play his final game for Real Madrid before retiring after Euro 2024, and would consider winning another Champions League to be a suitable way to sign his contract.
His midfield partner Luka Modric could also leave Real Madrid after this game, with a contract until the end of the season.
On the other hand, Marco Reus leaves for what would be a fairytale ending to his 12 years at Dortmund – the 35-year-old has already confirmed he will leave this summer.

And last night he joined the BVB faithful, drinking with the lively London group.
Whoever wins tonight, the stage is set for an unforgettable occasion.
