Sevilla appointed Francisco Garcia Pimienta as coach for next season on Sunday.
The 49-year-old former Las Palmas and Barcelona reserve coach replaced Quique Sanchez Flores after he decided to leave the Andalusian side.
“We have reached an agreement with Garcia Pimienta to become the head coach of our team for the 2024/25 season, with the option of a further year,” Sevilla said in a statement.
The seven-time Europa League winner struggled mightily this season, finishing 14th.
Sanchez Flores was the third manager of the campaign, following the dismissal of José Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso, and helped them avoid relegation.
Garcia Pimienta’s Las Palmas finished 16th, starting the season brilliantly but failing to win any of their last 14 league matches, with the manager leaving at the end of the campaign.
