OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has been given the opportunity to return to management at Besiktas.
The Turkish giants are long-time admirers of the former Manchester United manager.
Solskjaer, 51, spoke to Besiktas about the possibility of becoming manager in December.
He reportedly turned down an 18-month contract, but the Black Eagles did not give up on their pursuit.
And they are ready to take another step forward for the Norwegian as they see him as the man to take on José Mourinho at Fenerbahçe, reports The mirror.
Former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has reportedly rejected Besiktas.
The Turkish team is looking for a new coach after firing Fernando Santos after finishing sixth, despite winning the Turkish Cup.
Former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is on the list along with Sergen Yalcin and former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin.
Solskjaer also turned down an approach from Sweden and in March revealed he was not ready to return to management.
He said: “I have some offers but I’m not ready.
