Tranmere Rovers have confirmed the signing of midfielder Sam Finley from Bristol Rovers on a two-year contract.

Finley, 31, arrives on a free transfer and his contract at the Memorial Stadium expires this month.

He spent three years at Rovers following spells at Fleetwood and Accrington, helping the club reach League One in 2022.

“The pleasure is all mine. I came and met the gaffer last week and we had a good chat as he showed me around the training ground,” said Finley. he said.

“The size of the club, the stadium and the fans, and being closer to home too, with my family. It’s extremely important to me.”

Finley becomes Tranmere manager Nigel Adkins’ first signing of the summer.
