JAMES MADDISON admitted he is “devastated” after missing out on England selection for the upcoming European Championships.
The 27-year-old Tottenham ace left Gareth Southgate’s squad on Wednesday, making him the first of seven to be dropped from the provisional squad.
Now he has taken to social media to talk about his disappointment.
Talking about Xhe said: “Devastated is not enough.
“I trained well and worked hard all week, but to be honest with myself, my form at Spurs when I returned from injury in the second half of the season was probably not at the levels I had set myself, which gave Gareth the decision to make .
“I still thought there would be room for me in a team of 26 players, as I feel I bring something different and I was one of the pillars throughout this qualifying campaign for Euro 2024 in Germany, but the coach made the decision and I have to respect that.
“I will be back, I have no doubt. I wish the boys all the luck in the world in Germany, unbelievable group and guys I literally call some of my best friends.
“I really hope football comes home 🁢
