“I trained well and worked hard all week, but to be honest with myself, my form at Spurs when I returned from injury in the second half of the season was probably not at the levels I had set myself, which gave Gareth the decision to make .
“I still thought there would be room for me in a team of 26 players, as I feel I bring something different and I was one of the pillars throughout this qualifying campaign for Euro 2024 in Germany, but the coach made the decision and I have to respect that.
“I’ll be back, I have no doubt. I wish the boys all the luck in the world in Germany, unbelievable group and guys I literally call some of my best friends. I sincerely hope football returns home.”
