And fans are expecting big things after seeing England suffer a dismal 1-0 defeat to Iceland at Wembley on Friday.

However, manager Southgate could be without five key members of his squad.

Reports claim that Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and John Stones will be assessed ahead of the Serbia game.

While Luke Shaw will definitely miss out as he continues to recover from injury.

It means Southgate could be set for a big change to his preferred starting XI with the addition of five new faces.

Jordan Pickford will start in goal as usual, with Kyle Walker at right-back.

At left-back, Kieran Tripper will play out of position until Shaw recovers.

While Marc Guehi will start in place of Harry Maguire, who was completely left out.

And if Stones isn’t ready either, Ezri Konsa could move Joe Gomez and Lewis Dunk to the position.

In midfield, Southgate should opt for the partnership of Declan Rice and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Conor Gallagher, Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton are options if Liverpool’s right-back is not considered.

But Southgate showed his support for Alexander-Arnold by handing him the No. 8 shirt for the tournament.

Up front, Harry Kane will start barring any late back problems.

However, it is the three behind him who are ready for change.

Cole Palmer is likely to be the first standout, with the Chelsea player an ideal replacement for Bellingham as England’s number 10.

On the right, Jarrod Bowen is the same as the left-handed Saka.

While Eberechi Eze got approval from Anthony Gordon to replace Foden on the opposite flank.

But with five days to prove their fitness, the doubtful stars still have time to prove their fitness and start against Serbia on Sunday.
