And they wasted no time preparing for what they hope will be a successful five-week campaign.
The Three Lions held their first training session at the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld in Jena on Tuesday afternoon.
And Southgate received a much-needed boost when his entire squad took part in the session.
Southgate was reportedly sweating over his physical condition FIVE players ahead EnglandGroup C’s debut on Sunday night.
It was reported that Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, John Pedras, Luke Shaw and star midfielder Jude Bellingham they were all injury concerns.
The Telegraph said the entire quintet would have to be vetted before the clash with Serbia.
