Former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick was left in trouble after England beat his Austrian side to their five-star Euro 2024 base in Blankenhain.
The Three Lions arrived at the Spa & Golf Resort Weimarer Land yesterday and tomorrow they will train on the grass for the first time.
Today, they trained in front of young people on a German fourth division field, in the city of Jena.
But they will be based in Blankenhain for the rest of the time and Rangnick failed in his attempt to have Austria remain there – as England got there first.
In his four years as Leipzig coach, Rangnick often played golf at the resort as it was his favorite course in the region – which is why he wanted to stay there at all times during Euro 2024.
Germany also trained in Blankenhain last week, but were always prepared to return to their normal base, which is close to the adidas headquarters on the outskirts of Nuremberg.
England will train in Blankenhain for the next four days before flying to Gelsenkirchen on Saturday afternoon for Sunday’s Euro 2024 opener against Serbia.
Meanwhile, Austria are based in Berlin, with Rangnick’s team training at the Mommsenstadion, home of sixth-division Tennis Borussia Berlin.
The 2008 co-hosts face France in their opening game on Monday, before facing Poland and the Netherlands in group D.
The Three Lions continue their match against Serbia against Denmark, in Frankfurt, on June 20th.

Meet the ROBOT waiter who takes care of England’s Euro stars

ENGLAND’s stars will be served by a ROBOT called Robbie at the Euros.
Robbie is a key member of the 160 staff at the vast 350-acre leisure site in Blankenhain in eastern Germany where Gareth Southgate’s team will be staying for the tournament.
The real-life WALL-E – wearing a Germany jersey with the name Kehrbart and the team’s number 24 – helps out at the restaurant.
Robbie, with bright blue eyes, says phrases in German including “Excuse me” and “Please let me get on with my work” as he collects guests’ dishes from one of the hotel’s six restaurants.
A source told The Sun: “Robbie is usually slate gray with bright blue eyes and helps the team with delivering plates and platters.
“But the German team stayed at the hotel recently, so it has a new look and a new name to support them.
“I’m not sure if the England team will want to change their look when they arrive, but a Three Lions shirt and an English name might be a good idea.”

After arriving at the base on Monday, the players took part in their first training session in Germany, at Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld.
The land with capacity for 15,000 people is the home of Carl Zeiss Jena. who reached the final of the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1981.
