ENGLAND’S Wags have sent secret packages to their heroes ahead of Sunday’s Euro opener against Serbia, we can reveal.
The surprise packages were placed on the players’ beds before they arrived at the team’s five-star training base, Weimarer Spa, in Blankenhain.
They included sealed Wags cards that would be opened on specific days during the tournament in Germany.
Players with children also received notes from their children wishing them good luck.
Special teddy bears, family photographs and meaningful keepsakes that smell like home were also included.
A source said: “Each Wag created a box containing special items.
“They have written letters that will be opened on designated days during the tournament to give players that extra boost.
“They also include photos of family and friends that can be pasted on the hotel room wall.
“Teddies and scent-filled pillows are also in the package.
“The package was designed to make them feel more comfortable in their training base.
“We expect players to be away from their loved ones for more than a month – so every little detail has been taken care of.”
In previous tournaments, Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate has rewarded players for coming through the group stages with a family day out.
He is expected to follow the same approach in Germany as England chase glory.
The Wags are set to roar against the Three Lions inside Gelsenkirchen’s 62,000-seat Veltins Arena at the start of their campaign on Sunday.
They will include Jordan Pickford’s boss Megan, Captain Harry Kane’s wife Kate and John Stones’ other half Olivia Naylor.
England face Denmark on June 20 before finishing the group stage against Slovenia on June 25.
