ITV’s coverage of Euro 2024 was interrupted by loud sirens, forcing its pundits to turn away from the camera.
Ian Wright, Graeme Souness and Roy Keane were on duty for Friday’s clash between Germany and Scotland.
The hosts opened the tournament with a 5-1 victory at the Allianz Arena.
And the Scots were left to lick their wounds as a dismal performance was analyzed by ITV’s team of experts.
The TV channel decided to set up the tournament base in the German capital, Berlin.
Breaking with tradition, ITV bosses opted for an open-air studio in the heart of the city.
The decision always entailed certain risks that do not arise in an internal environment.
But on the very first night of the Euros, ITV’s coverage was disrupted when shrill sirens sounded near the open-air studio.
As Wright, Souness and Keane expressed their thoughts on Scotland’s defeat, the loud, piercing noise almost interrupted the conversation.
The flow of conversation quickly resumed, but fans found it difficult to hear what was being said as several more sirens passed by.

And at one point, Arsenal icon Wright turned away from the camera to look out onto the balcony and see what was going on.
Viewers at home were certainly distracted by the surprising turn of events.
One said: “I can’t hear the experts on the sirens analyzing the end of the Germany-Scotland match.”
Another declared: “This ITV outdoor studio is not working with all sirens.”
One noted: “What is happening in Germany is that there are a lot of sirens going off on ITV.”
Another shouted: “I can’t even hear Souness with all the sirens. I see that chaos must have begun.”
One boomed: “Bit unfortunate sirens for ITV outdoor studio.”
Another added: “Those sirens are incredibly loud on ITV’s coverage.”
