BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton is predicting the outcome of all 51 Euro 2024 games.
It starts with the first matches of each group, including the tournament opener between hosts Germany and Scotland, champions Italy against Albania and England against Serbia.
Do you agree with his predictions? You can make your own predictions below.
Sutton is also choosing the order in which he thinks each of the six groups will finish.
He is supporting France win the European Championship, believes England will lose to them in the semi-finals and thinks Scotland will not leave the group.
A GROUP
Sutton’s pre-tournament picks: Germany (winner) and Hungary (runner-up). Switzerland will finish third and Scotland fourth.
Germany 5-1 Scotland
I’m at this game for BBC Radio 5 Live and I’m not sure what to expect from Germany.
There is still an expectation on them in this tournament because they are the hosts, but I don’t feel that there is any arrogance or belief on the part of their fans that they will win this Euro.
A draw would be a disaster for them and that means no disrespect towards Scotland. What I mean is that Germany are desperate to get off to a good start, as they did when they were the home team at the 2006 World Cup, to have the country’s support.
I have a feeling Germany will push the limits here, but I think it could be difficult. People will look at Scotland’s recent run of one win in nine games, but Steve Clarke has faced some tough friendlies for a reason, to test his team. I actually like that mentality, even though they lost to France, Holland and England.
In qualifying they were brilliant, but injuries mean they will have to make some decisions. Up front, for example, do they go with Che Adams or Lawrence Shankland? Adams is a better all-around central striker, but Shankland is a lethal finisher.
Scotland also have some problems at the back. They are strong in midfield, where all their players had good seasons, but they will have to have courage in possession and take risks when they appear.
If they do that, you never know, but it will be very difficult for them to take anything away from this game or leave this group.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-0
Hungary 1-3 Switzerland
There are a lot of teams that are very important in this tournament, and they all have the potential to make decent progress if things go their way.
Switzerland may not be the team they were a few years ago and were flattered to be wrong at times in the qualifiers, but they are still experienced and experienced.
Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri know how to break out of a group, because they have done so regularly, but perhaps this team is in decline?
Hungary is definitely worth keeping an eye on. They have suffered one or two big struggles in recent years, including the victory over England at Wembley, and Marco Rossi has built a formidable team.
They are strong defensively and don’t offer many chances, but we know the great talent of Dominik Szoboszlai and, together with Barnabas Varga, he means they also pose a threat.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-1
GROUP B
Sutton’s pre-tournament picks: Spain (winner) and Italy (runner-up). Albania will finish third and Croatia fourth.
Spain 3-0 Croatia
Everyone expects Albania to finish bottom of this group, but is this tournament too far for an aging Croatian team? They have a lot of quality in midfield, but do they also have the legs they need?
Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente won the Euros at U18 and U19 levels, but this is obviously a much bigger question.
I see Spain as being dangerous, especially because if things go to plan for them, they will be on the opposite side of the draw with France and England in the knockout stages. They should start with a win here.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-1
Italy 2-1 Albania
Italy coach Luciano Spalletti banned his players from using Playstations during the Euros, so he’s already my coach for the tournament regardless of how they do.
They surprised us by winning the last Euro, but it would be remarkable if they ended up in back-to-back matches. They will be well organised, of course, and have some talented and heavily influenced Inter Milan players – there are five players from the Serie A champions in their squad.
I was criticized by the Monday Night Club for saying that Albania was one of my dark horses – apparently I have a lot of them – but you can’t take them lightly.
Albania won their qualifying group and play very direct football. They have a habit of scoring spectacular goals and will have nothing to lose against the champions, so this will not be an outing for Italy.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-1
GROUP C
Sutton’s pre-tournament picks: England (winner) and Denmark (runner-up). Serbia will finish third and Slovenia fourth.
Slovenia x Denmark
Stuttgart / Sunday, June 16 / 5:00 p.m.
I’m not sure Denmark will have an impact on Germany because they were very poor at the 2022 World Cup.
I think the Danes made a big mistake by not choosing Matt O’Riley, the Celtic midfielder. People can view Scottish football however they want, but he had a phenomenal season in the Premiership and would have been a better bet than some of the players included in the midfield.
O’Riley is very creative. I understand why Christian Eriksen is so highly regarded, but there is always time to move on. Eriksen may be at Manchester United, but this time I would have gone for O’Riley.
All eyes will be on Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko after his fine form for Bayer Leverkusen, but I think both teams will draw a blank here.
Sutton’s prediction: 0-0
Serbia x England
Gelsenkirchen / Sunday, June 16 / 8pm
Serbia have some talented strikers, but I hope England have plenty of firepower for them and start the Euros without conceding a goal.
I like what England manager Gareth Southgate has done this time. He did things a little differently to previous tournaments and chose his squad based on form.
I’m a fan of that approach, but now he has to play with the players he chose. I want him to find a place in the team for Phil Foden and Cole Palmer, so hopefully we’ll see that here.
I predicted that England will reach the semi-finals where they will lose to France. I hope I’m wrong, but this is how the draw plays out if both teams win their group and continue to progress, and that’s how I see it all ending.
Sutton’s prediction: 0-2
GROUP D
Sutton’s pre-tournament picks: France (winner) and Netherlands (runner-up). Austria will finish third and Poland fourth.
Poland x Netherlands
Hamburg / Sunday, June 16 / 2pm
The Netherlands is another team that could make an impact in this tournament.
They are missing Frenkie de Jong, who is absent from the tournament due to injury and who usually brings the team together well, but they should still go far without him.
Poland is an aging team that has just arrived in Germany. They won’t be able to count on Robert Lewandowski to lead the attack in this game, but I don’t think it would make much difference, even if he was in good form.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-2
Austria x France
Dusseldorf / Monday, June 17th / 8pm
I pick France to win every tournament – it’s boring, I know, but they’re usually favorites for a reason.
I stayed in the same hotel as France coach Didier Deschamps when we joined Chelsea at the same time in 1999 and I taught him everything he knows. He won the World Cup as a coach and I think you can attribute a lot of that to me.
Some people imagine that Austria will have a good campaign in this Euro under the command of Ralf Rangnick, who did a brilliant job after being ridiculed at Old Trafford.
They will have to get out of this group first, and even if they play well against France, we know that Deschamps’ team always finds a way to win – well, most of the time, anyway. They are talented and get enough done, which is a wonderful habit to have.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-2
GROUP E
Sutton’s pre-tournament picks: Belgium (winner) and Slovakia (runner-up). Ukraine will finish third and Romania fourth.
Romania x Ukraine
Munich / Monday, June 17 / 2pm
Romania had a good campaign in the qualifiers and topped the group without losing, conceding just five goals in 10 games. They’ll probably keep things under control here too.
Along with Slovakia, both teams are probably looking for second place in the group, behind Belgium.
It is likely to be a very cautious game with a draw.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-1
Belgium x Slovakia
Frankfurt / Monday, June 17 / 5:00 p.m.
I will be at this game on Radio 5 Live and I don’t expect Belgium to do things their way.
It’s another team with excellent players who don’t completely convince me.
For starters, I really don’t understand Belgian coach Domenico Tedesco’s decision to leave goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois out of the team, and that already seems like a huge mistake.
In attack, Romelu Lukaku is a great player and we know how much of a threat Jeremy Doku is on the left, but my main concern is with them in defense, where they still have Jan Vertonghen.
Slovakia’s only defeats in the qualifiers were both against Portugal, and by the odd goal on both occasions, so it won’t happen. If they can keep things close, they might even achieve something.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-1
GROUP F
Sutton’s pre-tournament picks: Portugal (winner) and Czech Republic (runner-up). Turkey will finish third and Georgia fourth.
Türkiye x Georgia
Dortmund / Tuesday, June 18 / 5:00 p.m.
Turkey seem to be many people’s choice as a surprise package, but it was the same at Euro 2020, and they lost every group stage game.
They should do a little better this time. Hakan Calhanoglu brings experience and teenager Arda Guler impressed when he arrived at Real Madrid.
Georgia are the lowest ranked team in the Euros and I don’t see them leaving the group. However, I’m a romantic at heart and this is their first game in a grand final, so I’m backing them to draw.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-1
Portugal v Czech Republic
Leipzig / Tuesday, June 18 / 8pm
Who is the real coach of Portugal – is it Roberto Martinez or Cristiano Ronaldo?
This could be their biggest problem, as they have enough quality to advance a lot in this tournament. On the other hand, the Czech Republic’s objective is just to leave this group.
Everyone remembers Patrik Schick’s stunning long-range goal against Scotland in the last Euros, and they could do with him getting some of them here too, because Portugal should have plenty going for them.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-0
