RIO FERDINAND was forced to apologize to viewers on live TV after a pornographic comment.
Manchester United legend Ferdinand appeared alongside Peter Crouch as presenter Jules Breach gave them a quiz during the build-up to the Newcastle-Tottenham game.
Breach was giving clues to a game of Guess Who while the trio sat on the bench at St James’ Park.
The first clue was that the player helped Leeds win the FA Youth Cup in 1997. The second was that they had over 300 club appearances for six different teams, including one in Spain.
The third clue was signed by Newcastle in January 2003 and scored Tottenham’s winning goal in the 2008 League Cup final.
Ferdinand, 45, guessed Gary Speed incorrectly, before Crouch, 43, gave Jonathan Woodgate’s correct answer.
When the correct answer was revealed, Ferdinand – clearly quite frustrated with himself for not getting the answer – said: “Ah, shit,” before quickly clapping his hand over his mouth with a cheeky smile.
He and Breach immediately apologized for the swearing, although Crouch was seen looking away as he laughed to himself.
Ferdinand then raised his hand to the camera to repeat his apology.
Crouch also joked: “It’s a bit early for that,” with Ferdinand adding: “Very competitive.”
