The result meant that the Red Devils missed the opportunity to close the gap in the race for a place in the Champions League.

Worse still, after Newcastle beat Tottenham 4-0 earlier on Saturday, United dropped to seventh place.

Ten Hag faced the press after the game against the Cherries when he saw red following a journalist’s comment.

The former Ajax manager was told that if United finished lower than seventh, it would be the club’s worst ever Premier League result.

An unhappy Lt Hag rose from his chair, before commenting: “I don’t comment.

“That’s not important right now.”

Ten Hag’s reaction comes after we revealed that Man Utd players fear Erik ten Hag has now resigned himself to being sacked at the end of the season.

Several Red Devils stars have noticed a change in the Dutch coach’s behavior in recent weeks.

This came after new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe refused to issue a public vote of confidence.

Worse still, ten Hag has lost an ally in John Murtough, who stepped down as Director of Football last week.
