FORMER Tottenham star Nabil Bentaleb was rushed to hospital with an unidentified illness.

The 29-year-old Algerian midfielder fell ill on Tuesday.

Now, his club, Lille, which plays in Ligue 1, France’s top division, has confirmed that he is recovering in hospital.

A statement from them said: “LOSC informs that Nabil Bentaleb suffered from illness on the evening of Tuesday, 18 June.

“The player was immediately hospitalized and taken to Lille University Hospital for hospitalization.

“LOSC follows Nabil as closely as possible during this ordeal and gives him its full support.

“The club also asks for greater respect for its player’s private life.”
