Former ARSENAL star Wojciech Szczesny has declared his aim to swap boots for blueprints… by becoming an ARCHITECT.

The Polish goalkeeper was part of the Gunners’ defensive wall for nine years, winning the 2015 FA Cup.

Now at Juventus, Szczesny is currently on Euro 2024 duty with Poland.

But the 34-year-old has already drawn up plans to build a new career when he retires.

“I have some plans,” he said.

“They are all more or less related to the development business.

“Some are purely real estate, others are related to architecture. I would like these businesses to correlate with each other.

“I would like to study architecture. Since I was little, I had a very strange dream.

“When I lived on the tenth floor in Grochow, I couldn’t see the center of Warsaw.

“On the other hand, there was a small window in the staircase, from which you could see the panorama of Warsaw perfectly.

“Looking through this window, I thought about designing a building that would change the view of the city.

“And that still holds true. I would love to design one, build it and sell it.

“Of course it won’t happen right away, I’ll finish my career and in five years I’ll build 150 floors in Warsaw.

“But that’s my goal, to pursue it step by step. My projects, both personal and professional, got bigger over time.

“In this urban and architectural dream, I have tried until now to make increasingly larger investments to prepare myself, hoping that one day the dream will come true.

“It may not happen, but the most important thing is to take small steps all the time.”

Szczesny made 181 appearances for Arsenal’s first team following his arrival in 2006 from Legia Warsaw.

He also had loan spells with Brentford and Roma before Juventus paid £11m for him in 2017.

Now he is set to join former Juventus teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

The three-time Serie A champions are believed to have opened negotiations with the Saudi Arabian club, which also boasts former Premier League stars Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte and Alex Telles.

The Saudi national team also has former Arsenal teammate and rival goalkeeper David Ospina on its roster.
