ENGLAND players have struggled with the air conditioning in their luxury hotel.

Some of the stars have been waking up very hot – others very cold.

It is worrying that not everyone had a perfect night’s sleep at the luxury five-star golf resort where the England team is based.

A source said: “The air conditioning seems to have a mind of its own and continues to disturb the players’ sleep.

“They are either waking up in the Baltic or boiling over.”

The FA spent £800,000 booking all 94 rooms at the 350-acre Weimarer Golf Hotel and Spa in Blankenhain, where 160 staff attend to players’ every need.

The hotel complex is the most luxurious in that region of Germany, but the players have struggled to get the temperature in their rooms right.

It is not known whether the problem is due to a fault in the AC system or user error.

Another problem with some hotel residents is hay fever.

Grass pollen counts have been “very high” and some FA staff have struggled with grass cutting at the resort’s three golf courses.

An FA spokesman said the issues had not been raised as a major concern.

The hotel has been contacted for comment.
