Italy only needed a point against Croatia to book their place in the round of 16 of Euro 2024 – but lost 1-0 with just seconds remaining.
In the last attack, the ball rolled to Zaccagni and the Lazio star fired into the top corner to set up a round of 16 clash with Switzerland.
The goal sparked wild celebrations that would have continued in the Azzurri’s once-strange dressing room.
Italian star Zaccagni, 29, is married to Chiara Nasti, 26, and former teammate Nicolo Zaniolo, 24.
The glamorous influencer has two million followers on Instagram and dated the man on loan at Aston Villa last season until their split in 2021.
Soon after Chiara and Zaniolo went their separate ways, she started dating Zaccagni.
And the couple had a child in 2022 before getting married last year.
At the time, Zaniolo, who has a son with his girlfriend Sara Scaperrotta, was playing for Roma, Lazio’s biggest rival.

And his fans celebrated the winning goal in the Conference League final by shouting: “Zaccagni’s son is Zaniolo’s”.
This led Chiara to write on social media: “With that shrimp, we don’t know how he ever had a child.”
She then quickly deleted her posts.
It all led to an awkward meeting during the international break in September last year when Zaccagni and Zaniolo were called up to the Italy squad.
And both were in the starting eleven for the 1-1 draw with North Macedonia.
Despite making headlines, Zaccagni and Zaniolo didn’t let the love triangle get in the way of Italy’s Euro qualification.
But Zaniolo didn’t do enough to make this summer’s squad – with his ex’s new player being the national hero.
However, all is not well in the Italian camp after coach Luciano Spaletti launched a furious tirade over claims there is a mole leaking stories from within the team to the press.
