And now they have been victims of a robbery after a man took three of their laptops.

Swiss scout Sascha Stauch and his team are in Germany analyzing data ahead of his country’s round of 16 clash against Italy.

But now they have seen some of their technology stolen from their hotel.

Adrian Arnold, a member of the Swiss Football Association, said: “I can confirm that three laptop computers belonging to SFV employees were stolen from the hotel and the police were informed.”

He added: “Data is not something we directly need for accurate analysis at the tournament.

“If it was an attack on the Swiss team’s data, it was an attack on the wrong team.”

According to BILDsurveillance cameras recorded at least one alleged suspect.

Hotel boss Harriet Eversmeyer said: “We are of course cooperating with the responsible law enforcement authorities, to whom the photo and video material was immediately handed over.”

Switzerland followed up a 3-1 victory over Hungary with successive draws against Scotland and Germany.

They will now face Italy in the second round and could face England in the quarter-finals if Gareth Southgate’s men win their group and progress to the quarter-finals.

The Swiss have only reached the Euro quarter-finals once – the last time three years ago, when they stunned France before losing to Spain on penalties.
