NEYMAR listed the four Premier League clubs he would play for after being backed to join Arsenal.

The striker moved to Saudi League side Al-Hilal last year in a £77.4m deal that saw him pay £157m per season.

But his payday in Saudi Arabia didn’t go exactly as planned.

The striker suffered a horrific anterior cruciate ligament injury in October last year, which ruled him out of the season and the Copa América with Brazil.

This saw the Brazilian play just five times for Al-Hilal.

Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva has said, in light of Neymar’s struggles in Saudi Arabia, that it is “not impossible” that the striker could join Arsenal.

Speaking with Bet365Gilberto Silva said: “I would love to see Neymar in the Premier League with Arsenal, it would be interesting for sure.

“This would bring a lot of joy to the fans and make the competition even more special. When you look at the Premier League we want to see the best players in the world and having him around would be great.

“We’ll see. It’s not impossible that he could join Arsenal, why not?”

This happened after Neymar went on record and listed Arsenal as one of the clubs he would like to play for when he was still playing for Barcelona.

Speaking in 2017, the striker said: “The Premier League is a championship that surprises me.

“I like the style of play and the teams. And who knows? Someday I would like to play [in] that, yes. I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool – these are the teams that are always there fighting.”

Ultimately, Neymar only left Barcelona for PSG, in a transfer record that still stands to this day for £198 million.

He spent six seasons in France, winning the French league title five times.
