ANDY Milne became a familiar face after appearing on TV during a World Cup match and going viral.
Here we meet the Three Lions fanatic – who was spotted at Euro 2024.
Who is England superfan Andy Milne?
Andy Milne first came to the general public’s attention when he went viral after appearing during a broadcast of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
His appearance was later compared to that of former England manager Steve McClaren.
The fan has become a familiar face after being spotted celebrating wildly at several tournaments.
Milne is a member of the England Supporter’s Club and has followed the Three Lions for over 40 years.
About his experiences following his country, he told Me in 2022: “Normally I would end up traveling with a group of fans to the next game after England have been knocked out.
“I’ve been saving for four years. This was the only full World Cup I was able to go to because Qatar is very small, so it’s something I planned 12 years ago.”
Speaking to Sky Sports in June 2024, Milne revealed that he has followed the England football team his entire life.
The die-hard fan has been to no less than eight World Cups, with the current Euros being his ninth.
And Milne has also shown support for English women after attending the Women’s World Cup.
When asked why he was so popular with fans, Milne said: “I think it’s because my face keeps appearing on television.
“I have participated in many tournaments, this is my ninth Euro.
“I’ve been to eight World Cups and also the Women’s World Cup.
“I saw no problems, I had a fantastic time, here in Frankfurt it is glorious and the atmosphere in the fan park is unbelievable.”
What does Andy Milne do for a living?
Milne is now retired – he reportedly worked as a teacher.
The super fan also likes excitement and, on his own, does very well.
He told i: “I’m really good at giving Asian handicap football tips, so I’ve made a lot of money from that.
“If you walk into my dining room at home, there’s a stack of 20 or 25 phones, because you need a new phone for every new bill.
“The number of accounts I’ve had is ridiculous. The most I’ve ever closed an account is £15,000, the lowest amount £1,200.”
