French giants Olympique Marseille have confirmed the arrival of former Brighton player Roberto de Zerbi.
Heavily linked with Brighton’s departure all season, the Seagulls confirmed that the final game of the season would see them leave the AMEX Stadium.
And Marseille reacted after Jean-Louis Gasset’s departure, with the French team revealing that the Italian had signed a three-year contract in the south of France.
The Italian explained: “I am very happy to join Olympique de Marseille, I felt a very strong desire to join this club. The history and prestige that surrounds OM, the passion and fervor of its supporters, the seriousness and enthusiasm that Frank, Pablo and Medhi showed me were decisive in my decision to embark on this exciting challenge. . I can’t wait to sit on the bench at the Orange Vélodrome, this time as coach of OM, and help the club regain the position that Marseille deserves.”
Will it be a match made in heaven?
