KEVIN DE BRUYNE stormed out of an interview after a “stupid” question following Belgium’s defeat to France.
De Bruyne & Co crashed out of Euro 2024 in the group stage.
Jan Vertonghen’s own goal divided the teams and saw Belgium leave with more international headaches.
And captain De Bruyne didn’t take kindly to the question about the “golden generation” of players who failed to win a major tournament.
The Manchester City star said: “And you say France, England, Spain and Germany are not a golden generation? OK, thank you.”
De Bruyne, 33, then walks away and mutters “stupid”.
The midfielder was criticized after telling his teammates not to recognize disgruntled Belgian fans following their 0-0 draw with Ukraine.
De Bruyne’s future at the Etihad was also thrown into doubt ahead of Belgium’s decisive game.
It emerged that the former Chelsea player spoke to Saudi Pro League director Michael Emenalo – before later committing to City.
He said yes. [I’ll stay at City]. I read a lot of headlines about transfer, but I didn’t speak to anyone.

“I saw him [Emenalo] in the Club World Cup. I know Michael, so it makes sense for us to talk. But it wasn’t about that.”
De Bruyne now has just 12 months remaining on the City contract he signed in April 2021.
Asked about his next move after City, he replied: “It’s difficult to say now. We’ll be sitting at the table in the coming months.”
