GARY LINEKER has revealed a German man mistook him and Alan Shearer for a couple at the Euros.
The duo is in Germany working for the BBC covering the tournament.
They have appeared live on air as well as on The Rest is Soccer podcast.
And before filming a recent episode, the pair had dinner at a local restaurant and later ran into someone who thought they were a couple.
Lineker, 63, explained in The rest is football podcast: “Something happened to us on the way here to this studio apartment tonight.
“We had some Italian which was lovely – some food after the game started – and we came here to watch the Austria-Turkey game.
“And we passed by the little store on the way and there was this kind of musical theater place on the way. And there was a guy in the way – a small crowd of people – and the guy started shouting at me and Alan in German.
“And I’m saying, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I don’t speak German – do you speak English?’ and he said, ‘Oh yes, I speak English.’
“He said, ‘I want to know how long you two have been together? You’re a really lovely couple.’
Shearer, 53, shared his shock at being mistaken for Lineker’s partner as his colleague is ten years older.

England five-point penalty shootout plan

Specialist football psychologist Professor Geir Jordet told Gareth Southgate and his players what they can do to give themselves the best chance of winning any penalty shootout.
And he even made a bold and dishonest suggestion to the Three Lions coach…
1. START PLANNING FOR LAST YEAR
“It’s about planning the opponent’s penalty takers, but also ‘how do you win the psychological game against each opponent?’
2. SOUTHGATE SMART LEADERSHIP
“Southgate will have two minutes to influence his players in the most effective way possible, show that he has a plan and convey confidence.”
3. TEAM DICTATING
“A penalty shootout is really a team performance. Have the goalkeeper walk with the taker into the box to basically create a two-on-one against the other goalkeeper. Dominate the center circle, support the players who made mistakes.”
4. ‘BULLETPROOF’ INDIVIDUAL ROUTINES
“Have really good pre-shot routines that are individualized and rehearsed, bulletproof and polished, so they are more likely to withstand stress and score.”
5. FIRE YOUR SHOT
“Practice the shot itself, trying to simulate the penalty shootout in training. Even recreating 20 percent of the Euro final penalty shootout will have a benefit for your performance.”
AND AN IDEA FROM JOR LEAVING…
Jordan Pickford is number 1, but Dean Henderson actually has a much better penalty record – saving 8/22 (36 per cent) compared to Pickford’s 8/62 (13 per cent).
Jordet said: “We could consider making a late substitution for a penalty shootout. I doubt they would dare to do so in case they fail and the pressure is even greater, but it would be a very brave move.”
He responded by saying, “I thought he was worried that some damn old man was about to kidnap me or something.
“Honestly, I’ve never been insulted so much in my entire life. I’m sorry, but yes.”
Micah Richards, also appearing on the podcast, reacted by saying the pair would “make a beautiful couple.”
He also described Shearer’s reaction as “harsh” and questioned whether they were holding hands.
