ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has banished a former Champions League winner and Premier League cult hero to AC Milan’s youth team.
Ibrahimovic, 42, has worked as a senior advisor at AC Milan since hanging up his boots last year.
Milan finished a distant second behind rivals Inter last season and are looking to improve their squad under Stefano Pioli.
And one player who has been deemed surplus to requirements is former Liverpool star Divock Origi.
Origi has not been wanted by AC Milan for some time and spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
In his 22 games for Forest last season, he managed one goal and one assist.
Ibrahimovic confirmed Fabricio Romano that the striker will not play any role at Milan from now on.
He said: “Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure are not part of our plans.
“They will be part of the youth team, as they are not included in our project.”
Origi joined Milan in 2022 on a free transfer.

He found playing time difficult in his first Milan campaign and was restricted to just 10 Serie A appearances.
Pioli normally preferred to play with Olivier Giroud up front or Rafael Leão as a false nine.
Origi was linked with a move to MLS in January – with LAFC considered the most interested party.
Origi won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Liverpool.
