Top 5 MLS goals from the weekend

After another weekend of dramatic MLS action, we’re here to pick out some of the best shots on the pitch. And volleys are a theme.

Let’s get into it.

5. Gabriel Pec x Minnesota United

Talk about a grandstand finish. Gabriel Pec was the hero for the LA Galaxy when he ran unmarked into the box and scored the winner against Minnesota United.

It’s a shame that everyone’s name couldn’t be on the sheet because it was a great team move.

4. Andrés Perea x Austin FC

An imposing presence in the box, Andres Perea placed himself between two central defenders and fired an acrobatic shot in less than five minutes.

Ar Andrés.

(Special thanks to Jonathan Lewis of Colarado, who produced much the same thing).

3. Pavel Bucha x Inter Miami

In a goal straight from the training ground, Pavel Bucha hit the ball enough to see it dribble past Drake Callender.

And the floodgates opened.

2. Diego Luna x Atlanta United

Three assists were not enough for the eventual Player of the Matchday. Diego Luna controlled a cross with his chest and set himself up for a stunning volley finish for Real Salt Lake.

This is a video game thing.

1. Memo Rodriguez x FC Dallas

Finally, we don’t think Memo Rodriguez will be able to replicate this one. Although he wants to prove us wrong.

An impressive and powerful blow. With three points to win.
