ARSENAL have reportedly launched a transfer bid to sign Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley.
The Gunners are in the market for a new stopper with question marks over Aaron Ramsdale’s future.
Mikel Arteta already has David Raya as his number one, with Ramsdale acting as a backup.
However Atlético claimed the north London club made an “opening bid” for Bentley.
The report insists the proposal was rejected “out of hand” by Wolves.
It is suggested the offer was “well below” the West Midlands outfit’s assessment of Bentley, who is seen as an important member of the squad.
Arsenal want to sign another goalkeeper to become the club’s third choice and strengthen the squad.
It is even claimed that the 30-year-old Englishman is wanted for pre-season by the Gunners.
The club is currently without Raya and Ramsdale, who play for the national team at Euro 2024.
This means only Karl Hein is available to Arteta after Arthur Okonkwo was released and joined Wrexham.

Bently joined Wolves in 2023 from Championship side Bristol City.
The goalkeeper played five Premier League matches for the club last season, keeping one clean sheet.
Bentley has links with the Gunners, having spent seven years in the club’s youth academy between 2001 and 2008.
He left the club to join Southend and became the club’s first choice until leaving in 2016 to join Brentford.
Bentley originally wanted to be a striker growing up, until a change occurred during a holiday.
While in the Sunday league team, Brentwood’s Hutton Medway, Reece Ottley, departed.
A ten-year-old Bentley was called up between the sticks and his goalkeeping career began.
Meanwhile, Ramsdale continues to be linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.
The England international is a target for Newcastle and Bentley’s Wolves.
