The pub chain has announced that there will be a free drink available to customers if England scores – regardless of whether it is a win, loss or draw.

The Three Lions scored twice against the Netherlands thanks to Ollie Watkins’ last-minute goal, meaning punters can claim their free beer.

All customers must do is say the words “England scored, please serve” to claim their complimentary pint now that the final whistle has been blown.

The offer entitles pub goers to a free pint of Greene King IPA, Yardbird Pale Ale, Old Speckled Hen, Old Golden Hen, House Bitter, False Nine, Level Head Session IPA, Flint Eye Dry-Hopped Lager, Hazy Day Hazy IPA, Prior Life All Day IPA, Ice Breaker Pale Ale or a soda alternative.

Greene King recruited former professional footballer and avid pub lover Jimmy Bullard, he said: “After having a career in soccerI saw first-hand the passion this nation has for sport and as this tournament proved, nothing is guaranteed in football.

“What can be guaranteed is good fun at the bar, because no matter the result, victory or defeat, you are surrounded by friends and fellow fans, to celebrate or mourn together.
