Cardiff City midfielder Ebou Adams has received an offer from Championship rivals Derby County, Bluebirds manager Erol Bulut says.

Adams, 28, did not take part in the Bluebirds’ 1-0 friendly defeat to Kidderminster Harriers on Wednesday and Bulut admitted his omission was related to the potential transfer.

The Gambia international made 17 appearances on loan at Derby last season, helping the club achieve automatic promotion from League One to the Championship.

“As far as I know, we received an offer from Derby County, but nothing is finalized, so until that moment, Ebou Adams is still a Cardiff City player,” Bulut said.

“We didn’t want to risk it [against Kidderminster] because we are close [to a deal] but in football you never know. Things may not get done and today we don’t use it, but tomorrow is another day, we never know.”

Meanwhile, Cardiff are expected to complete the signing of QPR winger Chris Willock on Thursday.

“We are negotiating, we are almost finished with some players. I think it will take a day or two to get some players,” Bulut added.

“We are close to three players and I hope we can finalize in the next few days.”

“With Willock, we have been interested in him since last January. We had some conversations, we tried to sign some players – one of them was Willock.

“I think he has the skills that maybe our wingers didn’t have last season. One-on-one situations and go straight to the goal to score goals

“I think with Willock we will have more attack, we will create more chances and we will score goals, I hope.

“Last season at QPR he scored four goals and four assists.

“If you look at the last three or four seasons what he has done at QPR, he has done very well.

“He is 26 years old, a very good age where we can expect a lot more things and we hope more for what he showed last season”.
