The FESTA town of Magaluf is on “red alert” as police prepare for a wave of English fans for the Euro final.

Around 2,000 fans are expected to arrive in the city for Sunday’s clash – with extra police being deployed to keep an eye on fans at the track.

Calvia council chiefs installed large television screens in the town’s main square so that Spain and England fans could watch the final.

Extra police officers will be stationed at Plaza Illes Pitiüses – with large crowds expected, Mallorca Daily Bulletin reports.

The council has also introduced a series of rules for pubs and clubs – such as only serving drinks in plastic cups and monitoring TV volume.

And local Magaluf police have been reinforced by extra officers as part of ongoing summer reinforcements for the Euros – remaining on “red alert” for any trouble.

The Euro final kicks off at 9pm local time on the island on Sunday – with fans expected to hit the bars as early as possible.

So far there have been no major incidents in Magaluf or the rest of the island during the Euros.

Elsewhere in Mallorca, a huge screen will be placed in Palma’s iconic Plaza de la Reina for fans to watch.

It comes as Spanish police officers in Benidorm deploy riot police, drones and alcohol bans to deal with the surge in fans ahead of Sunday.

Benidorm council bosses have implemented preventative measures for pubs and clubs showing the mammoth clash, with them telling bar staff to only give English fans beer in plastic cups.

Traveling Three Lions fans have vowed to turn the famous Costa Blanca resort into a battleground on the day of the final against the Spanish side.

To combat any turmoil, public safety advisor Jesus Carrobles said drinks served in glasses will be banned from 6pm.

The increase in policing in Magaluf is linked to recent tensions between tourists and locals that have reached boiling point.

Mallorca has always been a favorite holiday spot for Brits – with its picturesque beaches, relaxing vibe and great nightlife.

But the idyllic Balearic island has seen violent gangs, bar fights and anti-tourism protests tarnish its good name.

But one expert insists that despite the chaos, Brits are continuing to migrate to the island – in larger numbers than usual.

Tourists love bustling Palma and the party town of Magaluf – but it would be natural for visitors to feel unwelcome following the recent rise of the anti-tourism movement.

A poll of Mallorca Daily Bulletin revealed that 43.15 percent of tourists are unsure whether they should book a holiday in Mallorca.

Anti-tourism protests spread across Spain in recent weeks – with Majorca bracing for more as British police will be sent to the Spanish island to help with rowdy tourists.

And although Mallorca has a relatively low crime rate, the Balearics had the highest levels in Spain last year, official statistics reveal.

But still – a staggering 4,438,772 British tourists flocked to Spain between January and April 2024 – the most ever in the first quarter.
