The Olympiastadion is surrounded by parkland, which allowed for several checkpoints to be set up as fans approached the stadium.
The behavior of English fans in Germany has been praised by national football policing leader Mark Roberts.
He said: “We estimate that there have been around 200,000 visitor trips to Germany so far in the tournament and the vast majority of English fans who have traveled have behaved extremely well.
“Almost everyone who traveled had tickets to the games, and English fans filled at least half the stadium capacity at each venue the team played.
“We have also seen numerous examples of fans, family members and officials covered in alcohol during games, which reiterated our position that drinking in the stands should not be allowed at games in the UK.”
