But he never won team titles in his career, which took him from Tottenham to Bayern Munich.

Kane, who has 406 goals in 642 career games – including 66 goals for his country – can end his country’s 58 years of pain and 15-year quest for the title with victory over Spain in the final.

The 30-year-old England captain said: “Would you swap all the top scorer trophies for the Euros? Yes definitely.

“Without a doubt, I would trade everything I’ve done in my career to have a special night and a victory.

“It’s no secret that I haven’t won a team trophy and with each passing year you become more motivated to change that.

“I have the opportunity to win one of the biggest trophies you could win and to make history with my nation.

“I’m very proud to be English. I am determined to make this a special night.”

Captain Kane came closest to winning silver in the last three years’ Euro final, when England lost 3-2 on penalties to Italy at Wembley.

Winning the trophy at home is extra motivation for the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner.

Kane said: “It was a tough finish to the last Euro but there is extra fire in the belly to make sure this one goes our way.

“I know what it would mean to me and our country if we won. We will give everything we have.”

Meanwhile, manager Gareth Southgate hopes England can go one step further than the last Euros and finally secure a historic victory.

He said: “I don’t believe in fairy tales – but I do believe in dreams. Fate, the run we had, the late goals and penalties don’t mean it’s ‘our moment’. We have to now make it happen.

“We have to win this trophy to earn the respect of the rest of the football world. I traveled to World Cups and European Championships watching as an observer and in the highlights on the big screens before games when we weren’t in them. it showed the finals and the big games.

“We always had high expectations, but they didn’t match where we were in terms of performance. We have it now.

“Tomorrow I’m not afraid of what could happen because I’ve been through everything. I want my players to feel that fearlessness. If we’re not afraid of losing, we’ll have a better chance of winning.”
