Aston Villa goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo looks set to become Celtic’s first signing of the summer after joining the squad for their pre-season trip to the United States.
The 22-year-old Finnish international was pictured wearing a Celtic tracksuit at Glasgow Airport as Brendan Rodgers’ team prepared for the match.
Sinisalo played 50 games on loan at Exeter last season and previously had spells at Ayr United. He played against Scotland at Hampden in a 2-2 draw ahead of Euro 2024.
Rodgers is expected to reunite with former Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, 37, later this week as Celtic look to replace the retired Joe Hart.
Midfielder Matt O’Riley joined his teammates as they prepared to head out for friendlies against DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
The Danish international has been the subject of fresh speculation this week, amid reports of interest from Juventus and Atalanta, among others.
Another midfielder, Paulo Bernardo, is expected to join Celtic in the United States, with the club having agreed a £3.5m fee with Benfica following his loan spell last season.
