Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou poured cold water on the idea he was in the running to become England’s next manager after his Spurs side defeated Hearts 5-1 in a pre-season friendly.
The Australian manager has been linked to the vacant role at the helm of English football following Gareth Southgate’s departure on Tuesday, but insisted there was nothing substantial in the rumours.
“This afternoon I was taking a nap. I have no idea,” he explained when asked. I am the manager of Tottenham and I am determined to bring success to this club. That’s where my focus is completely.”
His words will be music to the ears of Spurs fans around the world.
