History was made in Major League Soccer on Wednesday night when 14-year-old Cavan Sullivan made his professional debut for the Philadelphia Union.
With the Union’s victory over the New England Revolution, the youngster was given the chance to come on as a substitute shortly after his older brother scored a goal.
With this, Sullivan broke Freddy Adu’s 20-year-old record and became the youngest player to take the field in MLS.
The highly-touted teenager is on his way to Manchester City when he turns 18, recently signing the biggest local contract in the league’s history.
