LILLE “threatened” not to play Leny Yoro for a year if he rejected a deal to sign for Manchester United, a report claims.
The Red Devils are ready to seal an impressive deal for the 18-year-old despite facing stiff competition from Real Madrid.
The Ligue 1 side have accepted a £52m offer from the Red Devils to sign the defender, according to Atlético.
But the Spanish outlet Brand reported that Lille “threatened” to abandon the French sensation if he refused a move to Old Trafford.
And Yoro is now on his way to Carrington for a medical before signing a lucrative contract.
United secured the youngster over Spanish giants Real Madrid, who just two weeks ago made a bid of less than £30m for the star.
Real made Yoro their No. 1 choice to replace veteran Nacho Fernandez.
They were confident of securing Yoro, making a low initial offer and entering into a verbal agreement with the young man.
The offensively low offer was part of their master plan, which has worked many times in the past to secure the best talent in the world.
They hoped the star was thinking about the deal and would be tempted by the move and then complete the transfer.

Los Blancos’ tactics worked for Jude Bellingham last summer when he transferred to the Bernabeu from Borussia Dortmund.
And the report claimed that this time United’s substantial offer for the French under-21 star took precedence over Real Madrid’s tactics as Lille succumbed to the allure of a hefty salary.
Sir Jim Radcliffe has turned the team around since acquiring a small stake last year.
And this summer Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Sofyan Amrabat, Donny van de Beek and Willy Kambwala left the club.
