Since hanging up his 2023 boots at the Rossoneri, Ibrahimovic, 42, quickly joined RedBird Capital Partners to become a senior advisor to the club.

The former Swedish international also pushed for the club to set up an under-23 team in Serie C, following in the footsteps of Juventus and Atalanta.

Now, Ibrahimovic’s son has signed a contract with AC Milan until 2027.

Maximilian will play for Milan’s new “Futuro” youth team in the third tier of Italian football.

Last season, the winger scored three goals in 19 games for the U18 team.

Meanwhile, his father scored 93 goals and provided 34 assists in 163 appearances for the Italian giants.

And between his two spells at Milan, the former striker scored 53 goals in 58 appearances for United between 2016-2018.

AC Milan finished second in Serie A last season after city rivals Inter dominated the table and finished 19 points clear.

Under new coach Paulo Fonseca, Milan hope to secure their first league title in three years and just their third in the last two decades.

Earlier this month, Ibrahimovic announced that former Liverpool player Divock Origi had been demoted to the youth team.

This came amid a dismal loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season, which saw the striker score just one goal in 22 appearances.

The 29-year-old has been informed that he is no longer part of the club’s plans despite signing a four-year contract with the Rossoneri in 2022.

Origi’s debut Serie A campaign was marred by injuries and he was limited to just ten appearances, with former manager Stefano Pioli opting for players such as Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leão.
