But SunSport exclusively revealed she was stepping down last week

According to BloombergStaveley is determined to buy stakes in another Premier League club.

She has apparently already had talks about investing in Tottenham after raising £500m through her investment fund PCP Capital Partners.

Owner Daniel Levy is believed to be open to selling part of the club.

He told Bloomberg News last year: “I have no real interest in leaving Tottenham, but I have a duty to consider anything anyone wants to propose.”

Staveley was the public face of the Saudi consortium that bought Newcastle.

She is popular with Newcastle fans as she often spent time meeting and drinking with them, along with her husband Ghodoussi.

The 51-year-old has also represented Toon in Premier League matches, where she has had a strong presence, with Newcastle often opposing rule changes introduced by the league, such as the inclusion of restrictions on sponsorship deals.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund paid £300m for 80 per cent of Newcastle in 2021, in a surprise move that transformed its fortunes and fundamentally changed the Premier League.

Staveley received a share in the club as payment for his involvement in the deal.

She claimed in March that former boss Steve Bruce “didn’t even want to come to work” when he bought the Magpies.

Bruce left after just one game after the takeover with an £8 million payment before Eddie Howe arrived.

Speaking at the Bloomberg Power Players’ Summit in Jeddah, Staveley was talking about the state of the club when he arrived.

She said: “We had little commercial revenue, we had an aging team, an angry fan base and a coach who basically didn’t even want to work.”

But Staveley backtracked on Instagram, saying: “I would like to clarify a comment I made during a recent talk.

“When commenting on Newcastle United at the time of the club’s ownership change, I suggested that the club had a manager who did not want to work.

How ‘big angel’ Joelinton rescued his boss after he passed out at Subway

NEWCASTLE cult hero Joelinton rescued his old boss after he passed out in Subway.

And coach Pellegrino Matarazzo still calls the Brazilian his ‘angel’.

Matarazzo was Joelinton’s assistant coach during the midfielder’s time in Germany at Hoffenheim.

Recalling the frightening incident, Matarazzo revealed: “I was in line and I wasn’t feeling well.

“I tried to go to the Coca-Cola machine to get a drink quickly.

“I realized I was about to faint and I did.

“When I opened my eyes I saw Joelinton! ‘Rino, Rino, are you okay?’

“He was like a small angel, not a big one – Joelinton, what are you doing here?”

“This suggestion was not correct; Steve Bruce was fully committed to his role at the club and always came to work during this period.

“I would like to express my intention to question or undermine the professionalism of Steve, who has always been professional throughout my dealings with him and committed to achieving the best for Newcastle United.

“I am happy to clarify my comments and apologize to Steve for my comments and any unintended consequences.”
