Lincoln City have signed defender Tom Hamer from League One rivals Burton Albion on a three-year contract.
The 24-year-old has made 147 appearances for the Brewers after moving from Oldham to east Staffordshire in January 2021.
Hamer, who had a year remaining on his contract at Burton and was transferred for an undisclosed fee, played 32 games last season as the Brewers avoided relegation to League Two on the final day of the season.
“Tom is a true warrior on the pitch, has an ‘old school’ defender’s mentality and a really useful long throw which will give us another attacking threat,” said Lincoln coach Michael Skubala. the club website.
Hamer is Lincoln’s ninth signing of the summer and second in as many days, with midfielder Dom Jefferies arriving on Thursday.
The defender could make his debut for Lincoln at the Pirelli Stadium he just left, as the Imps begin their 2024-25 campaign against Burton.
