MANCHESTER UNITED are trying to pull off a supposed double transfer – starting with Xavi Simons.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is on holiday after impressing for the Netherlands at Euro 2024.
Simons was signed by Paris Saint-Germain, but shone on loan at RB Leipzig last season in the Bundesliga.
His performances sparked huge interest across the continent, but it looked like Bayern Munich had won the race to sign him.
He had already agreed with the Bundesliga giants.
However, L’Equipe claims United are hopeful they can hijack the move.
Erik ten Hag is said to be a great admirer of the youngster and that his versatility would make him an excellent addition to the Old Trafford squad.
But managing to negotiate a fee with PSG could be complicated.
They reportedly rejected a £42m offer last year and believe his value has soared following his handsome euros.
But they don’t seem to be discouraged, especially as Bayern already appear to have a change underway and reportedly have an additional advantage.
