Fans went crazy after a spectacular goal scored in pre-season.
Portsmouth star Ryley Towler caught the eye with an audacious effort against Havant & Waterlooville.
Pompey beat their non-league counterparts 3-0 in the second pre-season friendly, having previously beaten Gosport Borough 3-1.
Towler, wearing the captain’s armband, stole the show with a superb solo effort to double Portsmouth’s lead.
The defender received the ball from the goalkeeper inside his own area before storming onto the field.
He bypassed two opponents with clever feints and quickly crossed the midfield line.
Towley then looked up and, with no options available, decided to lob the ball over the keeper and into the top corner, much to the delight of the traveling fans.
The strike also caused controversy on social media, where fans were quick to praise the 22-year-old, although some were perplexed that he did not celebrate.
One fan wrote: “It doesn’t matter if it’s pre-season or not, how can you not celebrate this.”
Another added: “I would go crazy all over after a goal like that, big celebration for me.”

A third said: “Filthy.”
And another commented: “What a player.”
Towler’s incredible scam happened the same night Robbie Brady scored from a similar distance for Preston, handing Arne Slot a defeat in his first match in charge of Liverpool.
