Everton have told Manchester United they have no intention of selling defender Jarrod Branthwaite, according to a report from The Athletic.

This is despite news that a potential takeover of the Merseyside club by Roma owners has officially collapsed this week.

The deal has therefore reached an impasse, as the Blues will only sell if the £75m valuation for the 22-year-old is met.

However, Man Utd will only revive their interest if the price is reduced, the report suggests.

Branthwaite came through Carlisle’s youth system and signed for the Toffees in 2020. Loans to Blackburn Rovers and PSV followed, but the youngster has since cemented a place in Everton’s first team.
