Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson hopes the club makes the “right” decisions in the transfer market.
Co-owner Rob McElhenney and key director Shaun Harvey were at the Harder Stadium to watch the League One new boys battle to a 1-1 pre-season draw with Premier League side Bournemouth.
Parkinson hopes the presence of senior figures at the club will lead to a clear direction for Wrexham’s transfer strategy during the remaining weeks of the transfer window as he looks to make the improvements he feels are necessary for his team to be competitive on their return to third . level for the first time in 19 years.
“Rob and Shaun Harvey flew in yesterday so it’s a great chance to review the squad,” said Parkinson.
“Can we add some quality? We are talking to some players while we are here. Hopefully we can make the right decisions going into the season.”
James Hill’s first-half own goal gave Wrexham the lead in front of more than 13,000 fans at Santa Barbara’s Harder Stadium.
But Marcos Senesi equalized for Bournemouth midway through the second half.
