DUTCH frontman Wout Weghorst plans to leave Burnley again.

The 6ft 5in target is expected to return to the Clarets after a loan spell in Germany with Hoffenheim and a few brief appearances for the Netherlands during the Euros.

New Turf Moor manager Scott Parker would be happy to work with the former Manchester United loanee.

But the signs from his team are that the 31-year-old wants to play at the highest level elsewhere.

Weghorst joined Burnley from Wolfsburg for £12 million in January 2022, scoring two goals in 20 appearances.

Following relegation from the Premier League, he spent the next six months on loan at Besiktas.

Weghorst scored nine goals in 18 appearances for the Turks.

But his spell was cut short when United made the move for him in January 2023.

The striker ended up playing as a number 10 under Erik ten Hag.

And Weghorst scored just two goals in 31 appearances before returning to Burnley.

However, the Clarets still did not have space for Weghorst and he was sent to Hoffenheim last summer.

He scored seven goals in 30 games for the Germans.
