ARSENAL have made a new bid for Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley – and hope to complete the deal.

The Gunners are now talking about a move worth up to £300,000 for the former Brentford and Bristol City player.

Wolves’ Daniel Bentley is wanted by the Gunners

They have been chasing the 31-year-old for weeks – as SunSport revealed.

Wolves want £1 million but the clubs are now closer to reaching an agreement.

Bentley is behind Jose Sa in the pecking order and made just five Premier League appearances last season.

And manager Gary O’Neil is on the hunt for a new back-up – although he missed out on Kasper Schmeichel, 37, who opted for Celtic.

Bentley may welcome a move to Arsenal even if he is THIRD choice as Aaron Ramsdale costs £50m and is unlikely to find a buyer.

The former Gunners academy star left the club aged 15, joining Southend in 2009.

He later joined Brentford and Bristol City before signing for Wolves in January 2023.

Since then, Bentley has provided Sa’s cover, making just nine appearances in 18 months at Molineux.

However, he kept three clean sheets in those matches and played 67 minutes against Arsenal in December last year.

In addition to Raya and Ramsdale, Mikel Arteta also has Estonian international Karl Hein among his options.

However, they released Arthur Okonkwo for free who joined Wrexham after a successful loan spell.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also announced the signing of 18-year-old Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford.

It cost just under £1 million.
