Sarr, 25, is now expected to sign a contract with Ligue 1 side Lens, according to L’Equipe.

The Frenchman arrived at Chelsea from Porto on a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

He signed a five-year contract worth £100,000 a week.

It means Chelsea have canceled his contract early, with Sarr receiving £20.8m from his time at Stamford Bridge.

The centre-back made 21 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, two of which came as a substitute, helping the Blues win the Club World Cup.

But he has played just eight league games and spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Monaco.

That deal included an option to buy which Monaco decided not to accept, although Sarr is now expected to move to Ligue Un with the Lens leader as his signature.
