Former Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore feels Anfield’s new hierarchy already has some important decisions to make.

The return of Michael Edwards as football chief executive, plus the arrival of Bournemouth’s highly regarded Richard Hughes as technical director, has raised hopes that Jurgen Klopp’s departure will allow Liverpool to avoid the crisis that Arsenal and Manchester United have entered when its long the incumbent managers left their respective clubs.

However, Moore, whose three years at Anfield working under Jurgen Klopp included Champions League success and the Premier League title, could see big problems, including striker Mo Salah, captain Virgil van Dijk and England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold are all coming in. last year of their respective contracts.

“That’s why they make a lot of money,” Moore told BBC Sport from his home in Santa Barbara.

“Arne Slot will be in touch, but he is not the coach, he is the head coach.

“He has to focus on what he has, not what might be coming.”
