Manager Brendan Rodgers is hopeful Celtic fans will see the best from winger Nicolas Kuhn next campaign amid an impressive pre-season.
The German striker scored two goals and provided another assist in a fine display in the first half of the Glasgow team’s 4-3 victory over Manchester City, in North Carolina.
The 24-year-old has taken some time to adapt since signing for the club last January, but Rodgers praised the condition in which he returned.
“He came back really strong,” said the Celtic manager. “The plays for the goals were excellent when playing through the City press and he was out.
“He finished both goals very well and his pass for the third goal was magical. He was very good.”
Speaking to Celtic TV, Kuhn added: “It’s good to have a full pre-season with the team, I’m getting closer to everyone.”
Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel played his first minutes for the club in the victory over Pep Guardiola’s side, making two impressive saves to deny Erling Haaland a goal.
Rodgers said the occasion was a “lovely introduction” for the Danish veteran.
“Everyone expects him [make those saves]he is one of the best in individual moments”, he added.
“He becomes so big. His personality will be huge for the team and the club.”
