Violent attack in the first half leads Dortmund to victory

A series of first-half goals from Borussia Dortmund saw them defeat Cerezo Osaka 3-2 in a friendly in Asia, despite the hosts’ fightback.

Top scorers: Shibayama 66′, Sakata 73′; Adeyemi 26′, 30′, Bynoe-Gittens 29′

After a huge defeat last week in the opening game of the tour while facing a weakened team, Dortmund made no such mistakes this time and put the game beyond their hosts’ reach with a three-goal salvo in just four minutes in the start.

Karim Adeyemi got things started before Jamie Bynoe-Gittens stole the show by racing down the left flank and cutting inside to find the far corner with a fantastic finish.

Moments later, Adeyemi scored the second with another cool finish, after breaking free from the defense and ending the game before the half-time whistle even sounded.

After the break, the home team gave Nuri Sahin’s team a nervy finish, with goals from Masaya Sibayama and Reiya Sakata, but Dortmund held on for victory.
