The 25-year-old driver of the Range Rover and his passenger, United defender Tyrell Malacia, were advised to go to hospital.

Police were called in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and arrested the 55-year-old driver of the Mercedes on suspicion of drink driving.

She was examined at Macclesfield Hospital.

Doctors released Dutch ace Malacia, 24, and his friend.

Both players trained the next day.

Cheshire Police confirmed that officers were called to a collision between a blue Range Rover Sport and a black Mercedes C220 AMG sports car on July 16.

They said a woman was detained at the scene and two men were taken to hospital.

The accident occurred two days before Rashford was banned from driving for six months for driving 104mph in his Rolls-Royce on the M60 in December 2023.

On Wednesday, he flew with the United squad to Los Angeles for a pre-season tour.

Malacia, who missed last season due to injury, stayed in Manchester to do physical exercise.
